  2. How long would the battery of my smartband last for?

    When fully charged it will last 10 to 14 days, depending on usage

  3. Is my wearable water resistant?

    Yes, it is water resistant up to 1 meter depth & 20 minutes under water.

  4. What is NFC?

    NFC is the acronym for Near Field Communication and is a technology by which a user can store and share information with multiple NFC enabled devices by touching the devices together, or bringing them within a proximity of 10cm or less.

  5. Where is the NFC chip located?

    NFC chipssets, containing small micro chips with little aerials are embedded inside the NFC stickers.

  6. How can I overwrite an NFC tag with my NFC key to open security sessions?

    From Lycos Life dashboard choose the Security button → top right settings → select 'Sync NFC key to NFC tag'. Approach NFC key to the back side of the phone. This overwrites the tag and can be used to open to open Security Manager sessions.

  7. How can I unlock my phone by using the LYCOS LIfe lock screen?

    Enable Lycos Life lock screen option and disable the phone screen lock pattern.

  8. Can I unlock my smartphone using my Smart Band/ Ring?

    Yes, you can unlock your smart phone using Smart Band/Ring if your phone is NFC enabled.

  9. What are the compatibility specifications? What kind of devices is my smartband compatible with?

    LYCOS LIFE band is compatible with NFC enabled Android Smartphones running V4.3 or higher. The band is also compatible with iPhone4s and higher models running iOS 7 or higher.

  10. Can I sync multiple devices with my smartband / ring?

    No, you cannot sync multiple devices at a time.

  11. How should I enable phone lock security with Ring/ Band?

    To enable LYCOS LIFE Phone Lock screen, select "Settings" from options menu- Click on "Phone Locking" option from the list which will redirect you to the Phone Locking screen. Enable LYCOS LIFE Lock Screen option and select the time period desired. Further, if your smart phpne is NFC enabled, you may also choose to unlock your screen using an NFC device. 'How to video'

    Collaboration between LYCOS LIFE devices is enabled by NFC technology. With a simple tap from their LYCOS LIFE device to a phone, users can securely give a new friend their number, clients a business card, send a precomposed SMS or email and even share a link. 'How to video'

  13. How can I share my Phone no/ Business card/ etc., information with Smart Band/ Ring?

    You can share your Phone number/ Business card/other information, using the Smart band/Ring through NFC technology on your Android phones. Write the desired information on the Band/Ring's NFC chips, using the NFC button on the dashboard and tap to share the information.

  14. How can I save my passwords in the Security manager module?

    The Security Manager module helps you manage all your passwords and security PINs clubbed into a single PIN on your mobile device, which can be unlocked using your Band or NFC Ring. 'How to video'

  15. How can I check the app version?

    For Android phones: On the dashboard screen → menu on the top right corner → About Us.
    iOS: On the dashboard screen → Go to menu on the top right corner → Settings → About Us.

Smart Band
  1. What can my smartband do for me?

    Your smartband is an advanced Fitness Monitor with a built in pedometer, a calorie counter, an instant Heart rate monitor and a sleep tracker which gives you valuable info on your sleep data including the number of quality hours slept. The band has a Notifications feature that alerts you of notifications received. The Security/Password Manager keeps your important data secure and the 'Alarm' feature helps you set up silent activity alarms that help you manage time more efficiently. The NFC tags help you share contact information or anything else seamlessly.

  3. What are the physical and technical specs of the Band?

    The Band has a 90 mAh rechargeable Lithium battery with a 10 - 14 days battery life depending on usage. Its water resistant up to 1 meter, for 20 min or less, suitable for shower, washing hands, light swimming. It has a 3D Bosch accelerometer with an OLED display screen and an electrode chip to monitor heart rate. It has 2 NFC chipsets NXP 216 with 888 bytes of memory each.

  4. How do I get the band the exit hibernation mode?

    Connect the usb charger provided in the box to the band, to exit hibernation mode.

  5. How should I pair the band?

    Select Options menu from top-right corner in the Home screen, choose Device Setup - the application will check for Bluetooth connectivity. If Bluetooth is turned off, the app will ask you to turn it on and will search for the available Bands. On the Choose Device screen, select/click your device, you'll see a toast message 'Pairing',and after the app connects to the Band you'll be notified with a 'Device Connected' message.

  6. Can I make a call using my smartband?

    As of this release, you cannot make calls but please check later for further updates.

  7. Up to what range would my smartband sync with my device? How far can I wander from my device and still access it on my smartband?

    The smartband / ring can be connected to your smartphone from a distance of up to 10 meters in radius. The accessibility range of your smartphone through your smartband / ring is around 10 - 15 meters in radius.

  8. How can I clean up the data?

    Android: Go to phone settings → application manager → ALL (applications) → LYCOS life → clear data.
    iOS: Go to App settings → Reset → Select the option.

  9. How do I update the firmware on my band?

    Android: Go to Settings → Devices → Select your paired device and click on Update firmware.
    iOS: In iOS, the update firmware option is directly off the menu. 'How to video'

  10. How can I check my band's firmware version?

    For Android phones: On the dashboard screen → menu on the top right → Settings → Devices → Select your paired device. On the Device Bluetooth screen, scroll down to find your band's software/firmware version.
    For iPhones: On the dashboard screen → Go to menu on the top right corner → Settings → Basic Information.

  11. How do I setup notifications on my Band?

    For Android phones: From the LYCOS Life dashboard choose Notifications. Enable Notifications to manage App notifications. Make sure 'Show contact info' is enabled too.
    For iOS phones:Go to iPhone settings -> Notificaions → enable notifications for selected apps.

  12. How to set Activity ALarm and fitness goal on my Band?

    For Android phones: To set the Goal and Activity Time click them from the dashboard. The Band alerts you if it detects inactivity for your preset time interval within the time period specified. Please make sure the Smart Band time format matched the time format on your smart phone.
    For iOS phones: To set the Goal and Activity Time click them from the dashboard. The Band alerts you if it detects inactivity for your preset time interval within the time period specified. Please make sure the Smart Band time format matched the time format on your iOS phone.

  13. My band isn't receiving call or text notifications from my iOS device, please help

    Verify the following information:- Make sure your band is within 20 feet of your iOS device.

    If your band and mobile device are too far away from one another, you won't receive notifications. If notifications are not working properly:On your iOS device, turn off Bluetooth, wait 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. Go to Settings → Bluetooth to access Bluetooth settings. Reboot your iOS device.

    If you're still not receiving notifications, set up notifications again. Complete the following steps: Tell your mobile device to "forget" your tracker:On your iOS device, go to Settings → Bluetooth. Tap your Band and then tap Forget Device. Reboot your iOS device. Open LYCOS LIFE appPair you Band again.

  14. How can I reset the data?

    On Android devices: From the dashboard screen → go to menu on the top right → Settings → Account → Reset App Data.
    On iOS devices: From the dashboard screen → go to menu on the top right → Settings → Reset

  15. How should I monitor my Heart Rate?

    Touch the two metal contacts on either side of the display screen until you see 3 to 4 heart symbols appear followed by your BPM. Simultaneously, you may view your EKG, by clicking the 'Heart Rate' button on the dashboard. How to video

  16. Does my band have automatic Heart Rate monitoring?

    No, the HR is not automatic on LYCOS LIFE band. This is to ensure that the battery life is maximised.

  17. What do the diffferent number of heart symbols indicate?

    It's to signify the process of measuring the heart rate.

  18. How do I enter sleep mode/how does the band recognize that I am asleep?

    Just wear the band on your wrist before you go to bed. The Smart Band will detect your sleep status automatically and will record your sleep pattern. When you wake up the next day, be sure to pair your device via Bluetooth and then sync your band with the App using the sync option. You should then be able to analyze the previous day's sleep data.

  19. How can I monitor my fitness goals using the smartband?

    Tap your Smart Band sequentially to check your steps taken today, calories burned, distance travelled and the time taken for it. The last tap shows you the percentage goal you have reached for the day. How to video

  20. Can I monitor my activities and sleep patterns?

  21. My fitness activity record, sleep record are not getting updated/are inaccurate. What do I do?

    Please sync your Band to the app regularly to see updated sleep and fitness data stats. In order to sync the data from your band to the app, Click 'Sync' on the dashboard. Syncing will take just a moment and updated information will appear on the screens. How to video

  22. How can I rewrite an NFC tag?

    To rewrite the NFC Tag, select desired new Tag from the available list, enter the information and click 'CONFIRM WRITE' option. Now bring your tag, to the NFC enabled access point on the lower back side of your phone. 'How to video'

  23. How do I edit the inaccurately displayed, time and date on my new band?

    The time on your band syncs to your phone´s time each time you set up a band or update the firmware. For app pairing with Android phones, go to Settings → devices → choose device → choose the option 'Sync Device to Phone time'. Make sure the 'Time Format' option matches the time format( 12 or 24 hour format) on your Smart Phone.
    If the device you are using is iOS based, you need to tap on 'Pedometer' and then on 'Set Device Time.' In case of an Android device, after selecting settings, you need to go to 'Devices', select the device and tap on 'Sync device to phone time'.

  1. What can my Ring do for me?

    With your Ring's Security Manager, you can manage all your passwords and security PINs clubbed into a single PIN on your mobile device, which can be unlocked using your Smart NFC Ring. Your Ring can also store and transfer NFC tags such as business cards, email ids, telephone numbers etc using NFC technology on NFC enabled phones.

  3. Is my ring water resistant?

    The ring is water resistant up to a range of 1 meter and 20 minutes under water.

  4. Would one size fit all or do we have different sizes?

    The Smart Ring is available in four sizes, sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12 with ring diameters of 16.5mm, 18.2mm, 19.8mm and 21.3mm respectively.

  5. What are the compatibility specifications? What kind of devices is my Ring compatible with?

    LYCOS Life Application and NFC Rings are only compatible with NFC enabled Android phones running version 4.3 or later.
    Compatible brands: Samsung, LG, Sony, Motorola and other noted brands with Android OS.

  6. Where is the NFC Tag inside the Ring?

    There are two tags inside the Ring, one is placed at the LYCOS mark on the innerside and another at the ^ mark
